Lecture/Trunk Show (1 hour): $300
Classes: $50/person/full day workshop (6 hours) plus kit fee if one is listed in workshop description. Minimum 8 students, maximum 12. Workshops are 1,2 or 3 days as described below
Travel: Mileage @ federal tax rate if teaching/lecturing within New England; for other travel, round trip airfare from Bangor, Maine plus baggage fees, mileage to and from Bangor airport (180 miles round trip), airport parking in Bangor, transportation to and from motel and lecture location (or rental car with GPS
Overnight Lodging (if applicable): Moderately priced motel, non-smoking room, preferably first floor with an inside corridor. Meals on expense account or per diem (preferred)

Workshop #1: "Beach Landscape" - class length 6 hours; this is a beginner landscape class; learn how to construct a 14"x11" landscape following a simple pattern and using basic machine applique techniques. Thick fence posts add dimension as they extend into the border. The finished piece is mounted on a canvas-covered frame. All levels. Kit fee: $20: includes all fabric for the scene, fusible stabilizer, fence "rail" fiber and 14"x11" canvas frame.

Workshop #2: "Phenomenal Free Motion Foliage" - class length 6 hours. Use free-motion to create shrubs, evergreens, 3-dimensional grasses and tree foliage to enhance a landscape. Learn how to construct a sculptural wire tree. These elements add texture and detail to a landscape, drawing the viewer in for a closer look. Intermediate level - students MUST be comfortable with free-motion technique. Kit provided ($3) includes Ultra Solvy, wire and floral tape; gray colored pencils and small wire cutters will be available for use.

Workshop #3: "3-Dimensional Landscape Elements: Stump and Mushrooms"; class length 3 hours; Learn how to make small 3-dimensional woodland embellishments: tiny 1" mushrooms tucked behind and around a 2" tree stump and tiny confetti shrubs. These will be sewn onto a 5"x7" simple background. A variety of both hand and machine techniques will be used and patience for detail work is required!. All levels. Kit provided ($5) includes floral wire, floral tape, Ultra Solvy, tulle, fusible stabilizer.

Workshop #4: "3-Dimensional Landscape Elements: Tree and Fence" - class length 3 hours: Learn how to construct a sculptural tree on a simple 5"x7" background using wire, floral tape and fabric.
Foliage is constructed using a "confetti" technique; various hand and machine techniques; free-motion experience recommended. All levels. Kit provided ($3) includes floral wire, floral tape, Ultra Solvy; gray colored pencils and small wire cutters available for use

Workshop #5: "Sheepish" - class length 6 hours; Create an 8"x10" landscape focused on a woolly sheep grazing on flowers with an apple tree and basket in the background. Several hand and machine techniques will be used: fusible web applique, hand construction of a fleecy sheep; flowers sewn with a zigzag stitch, french knot "apples", Lutrador foliage. The finished landscape is mounted on a canvas-covered frame. All levels. Kit provided ($5) includes "fleece", Lutrador, wire and floral tape.

Workshop #6: "Cattails on Loon Lake"; Class length 6 hours; Create a 14"x11" landscape of a loon on a lake surrounded by cattails and reeds. Several hand and machine techniques will be used: fused background; applique loon, Lutrador reeds, hand-constructed cattails. Landscape is mounted on a canvas-covered frame. All levels. Kit provided ($10) includes skewers, yarn, corduroy, Lutrador, canvas-covered frame

Workshop #7: "Create a Landscape Pattern from your own Photo"; Class length 6 hours; Students will bring their own photo (no portraits, please) enlarged to no more than 16"x20". They will learn the drafting process to create their own applique landscape pattern. By the end of class, they will have completed a freezer paper pattern for their own personal landscape. We will also discuss the applique process they will use as well as fabric choice. All levels. No machine required. No kit fee

Workshop #8: "Winter Birch"; class length 3-4 days depending upon students' free motion abilities; students will construct a 14"x11" winter scene with snowbanks, stream, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional birch trees, free motion evergreens and 3-D confetti shrubs and trees; class requirement: INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: students MUST be comfortable with free motion technique.
